Production Log #3

This rough cut was determined to be my final draft, so I took a respectable amount of time working on it. I did ask my audience about which scene they felt could be cut out without damaging the original plot of the film opening. Among 10 answers from 10 of my media and non-media friends, there were 6 votes (not 6 people, since one can choose up to 2 scenes) for the 9th scene, and 4 votes for the 8th scene.

The 8th scene

The 9th scene

The reason I led my audience to vote is because I want to guarantee that they understand the plot, therefore when looking at the responses I can tell if they've chosen the ones that actually don't affect the content of the opening. Personally, I also feel like the above 2 scenes are not needed and could be sacrificed to achieve the biggest goal - time length.

However, after cutting out scenes 8 and 9, the film opening is still somewhat long with a duration of 2:16, so I've chosen one more scene that could be creatively sacrificed without the risk of damaging the original plot, as the director of the film opening. After that, I improved the continuity for the last time and checked for any errors that may occur throughout the edit.

Result: Rough Cut #3

This version could be seen as the extended version of my final product. I am happy and satisfied with most parts of it, and I will leave the rest of the job to my audience - for them to comment and feedback on the final product.
