At this point in the project, I feel like I have little to say because everything is nearly finished and wrapped up. Am I satisfied with the outcome? Sadly, no. This project and I are nowhere near a professional product, and there are lots of mistakes that I made along the way that I couldn't have changed because of the limited time I could spend working on the project. There were days and nights when I was staring at the ceiling torturing myself with thoughts that I was not good enough and that this project was trash. Regardless of what others thought, I was locked in with my own and wouldn't stop doubting myself because of how my product came out.
Obviously, it wasn't fair. It wasn't fair for my crew - the people who have put in the effort, for my laptop that went through so much (I don't think she could hold onto it much longer), or even for myself who have devoted and tried so hard for the project. The realisation of I have so much more to learn hits harder after I've done my critical creative reflection questions, and I'm looking forward to doing that next year.
However, looking back at my journey, there are no arguments about how thankful and grateful I am to be able to gain this much knowledge and experience during these 8 months. I am now viewing the media industry and the depth of their products differently, more positively and professionally. The skills that I've learned along the journey are also improved and broadened day by day, and me right now is so much different than me writing her introduction in Hey, welcome. This course has also given me the chance to further explore my passion for film and music and has encouraged me to pursue this career path. With that being said, I am so grateful for this opportunity and hope to strive harder next year in A Level Media Studies.
This is the last blog post for this year, thank you for being on this journey with me. Lastly, I hope the project ends on a good note and everyone enjoys the production process as well as the 2-minute film opening called City lights, Country nights. See you next year!
